L’Uomo Vogue with Nicole Murphy and Michael Strahan
I recently worked with the stunning and so sweet Nicole Murphy for the couples issue of L’uomo Vogue. I love the image they chose of her and Michael Strahan and thought I’d share. The makeup was very natural and fresh – a great look for Nicole!
Bria Murphy (pic below) is Nicole’s and Eddie Murphy’s daughter. She’s gorgeous and super sweet too! I did her makeup for the Grammy’s last month and we went for a subtle look on her as well.
Keeping Up With The Kardashians – Season 4 Finale tonight!
As a lot of you all know, I flew out to LA to work on Season 4 of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. It was a season full of drama, excitement, tears and everything in between. I feel fortunate to have been there to witness Khloe’s marriage to Lamar and Kourt’s pregnancy. I cant forget Kim’s Vegas birthday! (LOL) The Kardashian girls are truly beautiful inside and out and I had an amazing time glamming them up everyday for over two months. Kourt – thanks for being the best pregnant woman I’ve ever worked on. Khloe – thanks for the endless laughs and Kim, my muse – thanks for continuing to inspire me everyday.
I hope you all enjoyed watching the season as much as I enjoyed both watching and working it! Im so excited to watch the finale tonight on E! because I know it’s going to be sooo good! Im also sad because Sunday nights wont be the same until next season.
Let me know what you think of the finale! XoXo Mario
Sky’s the Limit…

She’s a former mega model turned renowned DJ and she’s one of my favorite faces to paint! Sky Nellor is gorgeous. I met Sky a few years ago through my freind, hairstylist Ricardo Rojas who recommended I do her makeup for a New York Times feature. After using an image of her today for my TWIP of the day, I figured I’d show you some more images of our work together.

This Vegas Magazine shoot was my first cover with Sky and my first time working with photographer Sante D’Orazio. Ricardo Rojas styled the hair on all images above. Stylist was Rebecca Weinberg. Hope you like it! Xo Mario
Looking back… way back!

This is my freind Jessica that I used to practice on when I first started in makeup at 17 years old. I’ll never forget this shoot because it was my first shoot ever! I remeber she was laying on the kitchen floor as I was holding a lightbulb over her face while my freind Stephan took the pictures. I think I used a clay mask all over her face to get that texture. At the time, Sephora used to make these lipsticks that came in every color imaginable and I used them on her eyes and lips, LOL. Then theres the butterfly. Then theres the chunk of glitter right on the hairline. Good times!
Birthday besos for my beautiful Bailon ;-)

Today is Adrienne Bailon’s Birthday! You all know that I obviously love working with Adrienne – she’s a total makeup girl, sweet, and SO funny. I was laughing the whole time I was putting these images together remembering the crazy things that we talk about. Adrienne I love you and have the best birthday ever *minerva* Xo Mario
Looking back… One of my first TV commercial bookings…
Every now and then I look through my “vault” of folders that store endless amounts of images of my old work. It’s great to see all the different shoots I’ve worked on over the years, especially the very early images from when I first started doing makeup. When I see the images, it brings back so many memories – both good and not so good, LOL.
I came across this video clip today. It was one my first TV commercial bookings for Head & Shoulders (Latin market). I was SO excited when I got this job. I also worked on the men’s version of the commercial. Doesn’t it make you want to wash your hair? LOL Xo Mario
