New Work: Kim Kardashian’s True Reflection campaign…
I just went on youtube and noticed all of the makeup tutorials on the look I created for Kim’s new True Reflection fragrance ad campaign. Wow, you guys are so quick! LOL. Great job to all of you that made the videos. It was a great experience working on that shoot – I loved creating the old Hollywood-inspired look on Kim. If you haven’t had a chance to see the images or the commercial, take a look at it here. Also, Kim’s fourth fragrance, True Reflection is definitely my favorite scent of hers. Sky’s The Limit!
I was going through images in my laptop and saw this shot of superstar DJ/model Sky Nellor. This was a advertising shoot I worked on for the Ricardo Rojas Salon in NYC, featured in Vogue. Ricardo and I have worked with Sky (his muse) many times over the years and together, they’re so much fun to be around. Check out that bed head – I love it! A natural look for everyday, LOL. Xo Mario
Paying Homage to American Icons
This is a fashion editorial I worked on for Virgine Magazine , entitled “American Icons.” The story features several models – each one was transformed to recreate the iconic images of the past, like the two examples here that I worked on. This feature was shot over several weeks and the photos are brilliant. Everyone from The Beatles to Grace Jones and of course Marilyn Monroe and Brigette Bardot both pictured here with my makeup 
I love doing transformational makeup so this shoot was perfect! One of my favorite shots that I worked on is of Marilyn. Xo Mario
Getting Violent w/ Khloe’s Lips!
A couple of weeks ago I did Khloe’s makeup and we used these temporary tattoos called Violent Lips. They come in various colors and fun prints including the Silver Glitteratti pair that I applied on Khloe.
How beautiful does she look?? Sexy in Silver, lol. I love this pic! Violent Lips come in so many awesome colors and patterns. Kendall and Kylie gave me a couple of cool styles that I plan on using soon on a fashion/ beauty editorial. Xo Mario
Christian Serratos at the premier of ‘Breaking Dawn-Part 1′
I recently worked with the sweet and beautiful Christian Serratos for the LA premier of “Breaking Dawn.” For those of you that have not seen any of the Twilight movies, Christian plays the role of Angela, who is best friends with Bella (Kristen Stewart). I think Christian was best dressed at the premier, without a doubt! She wore a stunning fuchsia Alexander McQueen gown and she rocked it!
For makeup, I gave her subtle, smokey cat eyes and radiant, bronzed skin. On Christians lips, I used a very soft matte pink shade. What do you think of the look? Stay tuned for a “Get The Face!” Xo Mario
“How Many Times” Music Video w/ K. Michelle.
Has anyone seen K. Michelle’s music video for “How Many Times?” It’s a really great song and especially if you’re into real R&B. I did her makeup on the “How Many Times” video (see below). Towards the end of the shoot, I had to mimic broken glass on her shoulder somehow so I used hundreds of swarovski cyrstals in different shapes and sizes. I was so pressed for time but thankfully the manicurist and my assistant Sally helped me to glue all the pieces! You can take a look here. Xo Mario
