GET THE FACE! Kim K’s b-day look…Vegas

kims Bday2

So many of you have been asking me for a “Get the Face” post on this look that I gave Kim… so here it is!  LOL.  I had fun glamming Kim up for her Vegas birthday.  I did her makeup that night while she was laying down on this big, comfortable spa table/reclining chair and it was actually great doing makeup that way.  It’s more exciting when they can’t see what i’m doing the whole time because they get surprised at the end.  😉  PS… The other birthday look from LA is coming very soon too!

Skin – I used Sheer Glow Foundation by NARS all over the skin.  Under the eyes and to highlight I used YSL’s Touch Eclat.  To set everything use a touch of Translucent Loose Powder by Shiseido.

Eyebrows are softly filled in with MAC’s eyebrow pencil in Lingering.

Eyes – Urban Decay eyeshadow in Eldorado on eye lids and browbone.  Smog eyeshadow also by Urban Decay on the crease of the eye and outter corners of the lids.  Smolder Eye Kohl by MAC rimming the entire eye and on the inner rims.  Use more liner towards the outter corners.  Using a clean brush, blend along the lashlines, moving up and out.  Apply more liner for intensity if needed.  Finish the eyes with two coats of Lancome’s Hynose Drama Mascara on top and bottom lashes.

Cheeks – On the apples of the cheeks, use Passion blush by Josie Maran.  Skin is bronzed with Josie Maran Bronzing Powder.  Brush it along the hairline, jawline and hollows of cheeks.  To highlight the cheek bones, use Trace Gold blush by MAC.

Lips are lined with MAC’s Cremestick Liner in Summerfruit followed by Lipgelee in Saplicious, also by MAC.

Have fun and take pics!  Xo Mario

041_weddin_get_000041_weddin_ope_003

As you all know, OK! Magazine had the exclusive for the look I gave Khloe on her wedding.  Many of you have been asking me for more details and product info so I’m going to share the “complete face” with you all in more detail.   Here it is – Get the Face!

MDOKMagKhloeKardashOct09cropped

On Khloe’s skin – To prep skin, I used Mister Mat Mattifying Foundation Primer by Givenchy.  I wanted her overall skin to be more matte, even though I was going for the “glowy Khloe.”  Most of the time, I will later add the glow to the areas I want.  For foundation, I used the new Sheer Matte Foundation by NARS all over skin.  For undereyes, I used a bit of Lift Concealer by Make Up For Ever.  I set everything with a touch of  Translucent Loose Powder by Shiseido.

Khloe’s Brows are filled in with Diorshow Brow Styler Ultra-Fine Precision Brow Pencil.  It comes in a universal shade.  To darken the brow, just apply more.

Khloe’s eye’s –  On the inner rim of the eyes (tear ducts) and on the brow bone, I used b-dazzle eyeshadow by GIELLA.  All over the lid, apply the golden shade from NARS Duo Eyeshadow in Mediterranee.  On the outter corners of the eyes, crease and along lower lash line, use Antiqued eyeshadow by MAC.  To line eyes on top, inner rim and along the outter and lower lash lines, use MAC’s eye pencil in Smolder.  Finish the eyes with Khloe’s favorite mascara on top and bottom lashes – Lancome Hynose Mascara!

Cheeks – To bronze and warm up Khloe’s skin, I used Dior Bronze Matte Sunshine in Amber Matte. On the hollows of the cheeks, I applied Suntan Matte Bronzelights by Smashbox.  For blush, I brushed Orgasm by NARS on the apples of her cheeks.  To add glow to the cheekbones and bridge of nose, use Albatross blush, also by NARS.

Lips – I lined Khloe’s lips with ColorStay Lipliner in Natural, by Revlon.  To finish, use Revlon’s Creme Gloss in Pink Cami.

I hope you try to “get the face!”   If you do, remember to send me pics of the look so I can post them here! xo Mario

GET THE FACE! Natasha Bedingfield

87237190good2227gyufj

Natasha Bedingfield is one of my favorite singers and also one of my faves to work on! I always have a good time when working with her.  She’s sweet, super talented and loves to play with different makeup looks.  This look that I gave her was for a TV appearance/performance in NYC.   The eyeshadow I used is actually silvery, not blue.  I rarely match eyeshadow to a dress.

So for you fair skinned/lighter hair ladies out there, Get the Face!  This makeup would work with jeans and a t-shirt as well. 😉

Eyes-  Use Forgery eyeshadow by MAC on the lids and along the lower lash line.  On the crease, use a bit of Cork, also by MAC.  Line the upper lid with Magic Khol Eyeliner Pencil in Black by Givenchy.  Curl lashes and use Longer Then Life Lengthening Mascara by NARS on top and bottom lashes.

Cheeks – On the apples of the cheeks, use Desire, by NARS.  Frame the face lightly with Laguna bronzer, also by NARS.

Lips – Line lips with MAC’s subculture and use Keri’s Kiss lipstick by GIELLA.

Xoxo, Mario

The “Get the Face” girls…

Hey!  Recently, a few girls sent me messages saying that they have tried to replicate the makeup from one of my “Get the Face” posts and sent me pics.  I was so excited and flattered when I saw the images so I asked my Twitter and Facebook freinds to send me pics of them if they had tried one of my “Get the Face” looks.  The pics came through and here they are!  Some are makeup artists, aspiring makeup artists and some are not, but regardless of that – they are all beautiful!  Thank you girls for having fun and trying out one my looks!

There were a few girls that tried Adrienne’s look that I gave her for “Steppin’ Out.”

Thanks again to all of you who sent me images!  You all look amazing! xo Mario

GET THE FACE! Kim K @ Teen Choice Awards

This day was so exciting for me, as it was the first time I saw Kim as a blonde.  I was pleasantly surprised!  I had so much fun doing her makeup for the Teen Choice Awards.  It was almost like I was doing another person!  I also did Kourtney, Kendall and Kylie that day too.  They all looked so beautiful 🙂  People magazine (out on stands right now) interviewed me as well to get the makeup scoop.  Check out the image below and read more here to Get The Face!

Skin – I started out with one of my favorite moisturizers – Ultimate Youth Creme by Estee Lauder.  For foundation, I went with Dior Nude Hydrating Glow Foundation followed by NARS pressed powder.  I used Make Up For Ever Lift concealer under the eyes.

Eyes – Use Chopper eye shadow by Urban Decay all over the lid. Sweep Mac’s eye pencil in fascinating along the inner rim of the eye.   Apply Cork eye shadow by MAC with a Qtip along the lower lash line.  On the inner corner of the eyes, use B-dazzle by GIELLA.   Lancôme Hypnose mascara on top and bottom lashes.

Eyebrows are slightly filled in with lingering brow pencil by MAC then blended and softened with a Qtip.

Cheeks- Lancôme Star Bronzer in Bronze Rich framing the entire face and on hollows of cheeks.  Apply some to the neck and chest area as well.  Brush Orgasm by NARS on the apples of the cheeks.

Lips – Fill in lips with Spice liner by MAC and follow with MAC’s Dazzleglass in Smile.  😉  Have fun!

Get the Face! Adrienne Bailon – Steppin’ Out.

Here it is girls!  I’ve gotten so many “get the face” requests for this look I gave Adrienne Bailon.  This shoot was for the cover of “Steppin’ Out” magazine and we had so much fun working that day.  As you all know, Adrienne’s highly anticipated solo album and single, “Super Bad” will be coming out soon and I’m super excited!  Stay tuned for a lot more “get the face” with Adrienne Bailon…

Adrienne loves to play around and expirement with different makeup looks, so for this shoot we decided to play up the eyes with darker shadows and keep the lips light and matte.  Here’s how I did it –

On skin, use Keihl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer all over.  Follow with Make Up For Ever Matte Velvet Foundation.  Set the makeup with a bit of loose powder by NARS.  Use Stila Perfecting concealer under they eyes.

Brows are filled in with Lingering brow pencil by MAC and blended lightly with a Q-tip.

Eyes – I used Urban Decay Cream Eyeshadow in Whipped on the eyelids only.  On the crease and outter corner of the eyes, use Walnut shadow by Smashbox and blend well.  Line the upper lid with Smolder by MAC and smudge towards the outter corners.  Use smolder again on the inner rim of the eyes, but starting at the center of the eye and going to the outter corner again.  On the inner corners of the inner rim, use B-dazzle pencil by GIELLA.  To smoke the eyes along the lower lash line, use Envy by Smashbox with a brush.  Start with a little and build for more intensity.  Blend it out to elongate the eyes.  Finish with two coats of Loreal’s Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.

Cheeks –  To warm up her skin and contour, I used Casino bronzer by NARS all around the frame of the face and on the hollows of the cheeks.  For blush, I applied Orgasm by NARS to the apples and blended out.  For highlight, I brushed Rose Gold Illuminating finishing powder by STILA on the cheek bones and bridge of nose.  I also put a dab of it right on the brow bone (under the brow).

Lips are lined with Subculture by MAC.  I custom blended the lipstick myself at the GIELLA makeup counter at Henri Bendel and I named it “Bailon Besos.”  Its very creamy and moisturizing!  Comment or email me to find out how to get the lipstick.

I hope you all try this look out and please send me pics!  xo – Mario

GET THE FACE! Kim’s LUXE PALETTE

You guys may remember these images from Kim’s blog post that she titled “Dream Team Have me Ready in a New York Minute.” http://kimkardashian.celebuzz.com/2009/07/dream-team-have-me-ready-in-a.php.  Sometimes these things happen and there is no other option but to make it work as best you can in as little time as possible. (In this case, the very talented Michael Silva and I glammed her up in 15 minutes)  People Magazine recently asked me to share with them my inspiration for that look as well as the whole makeup break-down.   Click this link to get the look –http://www.peoplestylewatch.com/people/stylewatch/gallery/0,,20187290,00.html#20653772 or read below.

GET KIM’S LUXE PALETTE (From People.com)

“My inspiration in one word was prestige,” explains Kardashian‘s makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic of the look he gave her for a recent MTV appearance. “I was inspired by the attention-grabbing texture and color of the bright blue top Kim had on when I saw her.”
How to Do It
1: Use Diorskin Nude Natural Glow Hydrating Makeup in 050 all over the skin, followed by a touch of Nars pressed powder and Diorskin Sculpt Concealer in 003 under the eyes.
2: Dust Josie Maran Eye Shadow in Beach on the eyelids and brow bone. Then trace upper lids’ outer corners with M.A.C Liquid Eye Liner in Boot Black.
3: Smudge lower lash line using a Q-tip with a bit of the copper shade from the NARS Surabaya Duo Eyeshadow followed by a couple of coats of Lancome Hypnose mascara.
4: Trace lips with Lip Pencil in Spice and apply Dazzleglass in Smile, both by M.A.C.

GET THE FACE – Kim Kardashian’s sexy, smokey eye.

I did this smokey-eyed look on Kim recently here in NYC for the Three Olive’s Bubble Flavored Vodka party.  Beleive it or not but this was actually the first time that I’ve done an all-black smokey eye on her, so for us, it was a different look.  When I saw the cool outfit she was going to wear, I thought it was the right time to finally do the really dark eye’s I’d been wanting to try on her.  Here’s how you can “get the face:”

Skin – I prepped her skin with Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Moisturizer first.  I let her skin absorb that for a couple of minutes before applying Mat Velvet + Matyfying Foundation by Make Up For Ever.  I use this foundation from time to time.  It gives a very velvety and pore-less look to the skin.  For powder, I used very little of Subliminal Purity Mineral Based Loose Powder by Calvin Klein to set the foundation with a powder puff.

I used Dior’s DiorSkin Sculpt Lifting Smoothing Concealer under the eyes after all of the eye makeup was complete.  (When working with black eye shadow, it will almost always fall down a bit and make a mess so clean the under eye area with a makeup wipe, then apply concealer.)

Her eyebrow’s are filled in softly with MAC’s Cork eyeshadow – with more of the focus on the outter corners of the brow.

Eyes – Apply Shu Uemuras Painting Liner Eye Liner in MBlack all over the eye lids and on the lower lash line as well. This is a long-lasting and highly pigmented black cream liner.  To set that eyeliner and blend it up and out towards the crease, I used Lorac’s Eye Shadow in Black.  The inner rim of the eye is lined with MAC’s white eye pencil in Fascinating.  Using all black on the eyes can sometimes make them appear smaller so the white pencil on the inner rim is a great trick for opening your eyes.  Finish off with two or three coats of L’oreal Voluminous Mascara in Carbon Black.

Cheeks – Apply Desire by NARS ( the perfect pink) on the apples of cheeks and blend well.  The face is framed in Casino Bronzer by NARS.

Lips – I lined her lips with MAC’s lip pencil in Subculutre and used Dior Addict High Shine Lipstick in Pink Protege.

Do you love Kim’s look from this event?  Monica Rose, Kim’s amazing fashion stylist posted “how to get Kim’s look for less!” on her blog.  Check it out – http://monicarosestylist.blogspot.com/2009/07/how-to-get-kim-kardashians-look-for.html
