Are U Glam? Show Me and Enter the Eye M Glam Give Away!

Im sure many of you are painting your faces for Halloween as I type this so here is a little inspiration while you glam up!

Im going to be sending a lucky someone their very own EYE M GLAM highlighter which I created for Giella Cosmetics, along with a few of my other favorite products and tools from different brands that I personally pick for your face!  Here is what you have to do to enter a chance to win:

Send me pictures of your makeup to AskMakeupByMario@gmail.com.  I will choose a lucky winner who I think has the MOST GLAM makeup!  In your email, please tell me in one sentence WHY YOU ARE GLAM.  There is no right or wrong answer.  The look you submit does NOT have to be from Halloween, but if it is, that is totally fine as well.  I want to see faces that are beautiful, glamourous, stylish and even a little wild-ish so don’t be afraid to paint!

No more then three images per person.  At least one image should be a close up of the face.  Subject line should say EYE M GLAM give away.  Last day to submit your images will be on Sunday November 7th, 2010.

Fatal Attraction – ELLE Mexico

This fashion story from Elle Magazine (Mexico) was just published.  Alexander Neuman, another very talented photographer shot this along with a few other stories in my book.  You may remember when I twitpic’d a model and asked what she had missing on her face?  You can see here that it was her eyebrows.  😉  Blocking out the eyebrows gives a very edgy, fashion forward look.  For this shoot, I wanted the model to look androgynous and somewhat “hard.”

Will anyone try blocking out their brows this Halloween?  If so, i’d love to see pics!  There are different techniques to do this.  I prefer using a bald cap to cover the natural brow.  How would you do it?  😉 Xo Mario

Loving Surface – Nov 2010.

It was so great working on this cover shoot for the current issue of Surface Magazine.  This story is all about jewelry and was shot by Yu Tsai – he’s a genius photographer and had me cracking up the entire day!

I went for a clean, beautiful, monochromatic look.  Her features are softly defined and skin has a satin finish to it.  This makeup is very “me.”  🙂 I think a “Get the Face” will be coming soon for this look in which I used Dior Cosmetics to create.  Hope you all like it and if you pass by a newsstand, check out the issue.

Organizing my makeup closets…

I’ve been trying to organize all of my makeup, skincare, lashes etc that I have at home and it’s no easy task! Thought I would share some pics with you showing my progress thus far.  Keeping all of this (and there is more in boxes that I didn’t take pics of) organized is important to me so that I know what I have and where to grab it when Im packing but it takes so much time!  How do you like to organize things?  Any tips for me?  Xo Mario

K. Michelle on BET’s 106 and Park “I Just Can’t Do This”

Some of you may remember the other day when my flight from LA to NYC was delayed.  I was praying for a miracle to happen so that I would make it in time to do K. Michelle’s makeup for her live performance on 106th and Park.  I do believe in miracles because I got there with a few minutes until show time and I started painting for my life!  Thanks Jai for your help!  Anyhow, enjoy this video clip of her performing and also of her interview right after.   Xo Mario

“Going To Saks” Ads

Here are some images from a Saks advertising job I recently worked on.  This shoot was fun in the hot NYC sun, LOL and you’ve got to love Jacquetta Wheeler!  She really is an amazing model, not to mention the sweetest person ever.  I kept the makeup sophisticated with natural tones and played up the eyes with liner on top and bottom.  Hope you like.  Xo Mario
