Pretty in pink – Kim Kardashian cover shoot…

These beauty shots of Kim are so beautiful! I just found the cover image the other day so I wanted to share it with all of you. The shot below is from the Fusion Beauty campaign that Kim and I worked on together. Later that day, I changed her makeup for the shot above. What do you think of the pink lips? Can you guess which Lip Fusion gloss I used on Kim in the image above? If so, leave a comment with your answer! ;-) xo, Mario
Check out my new spring cover…
The spring issue of Surface magazine is out on newsstands. Check out the cover above and inside story. The makeup I did was very natural and I think it works well for this story. I wanted her amazing red hair to pop out against her pale skin and the white background. No contour, no blush, no lipstick, no shadows! I used a lightweight foundation mixed with a moisturizer all over the skin and then filled in her brows using a blonde pencil. I lined the eyes, applied two coats of mascara to top and bottom lashes and added highlight to her skin and a tiny bit to the lips. This makeup is easy to recreate if you’re going for very modern and clean look. Oh, and how cool is the chair and table??? Enjoy!

Harper’s Bazaar w/ Kim K
If you haven’t already seen Kim on the current cover of Bazaar, make sure you check it out! Its a great interview that you’ll enjoy. There are many images of Kim in the story, shot by Terry Richardson and one night I had the pleasure of working on set with the iconic photographer. The image above is the one I worked on. I gave Kim a pretty look using Dior products
Hope you like it. Xo Mario
NEW: fashion/editorial makeup
Working on fashion editorials with a talented team and gorgeous models can be very rewarding. I still get the same excitement, after 10 years, when a story I worked on is published. I love to see the final images laid out as a story.
This is my latest story shot by Henrique Gendre in the current issue of Surface Magazine. The gorgeous face you see is model Ali Stephens and styling was done by Gregory Wein. The shoot was all about bright solids so I kept the makeup simple and clean with a strong brow and subtle contour. For the last couple of shots, I darkened her eyes with shadow only.
Editorial makeup is very different from celebrity/red carpet/TV, etc.. . To keep it modern and editorial, I didn’t use any mascara, liner or blush. Hope you like it! I will post a Get The Face! for the look below (dark eyes) very soon. Xo, Mario.
Behind the scenes video from my workshop!
Im excited to share this short video with you all! It was shot during my first workshop that I hosted for Industry Art Shops. It’s a recap of the entire day that shows parts of my makeup demo as well as the artist portfolio event and photo shoot afterwards. Hope you like it and I look forward to hosting more workshops/seminars in the near future.
Kourtney Kardashian glows on Lopez Tonight
Earlier in the week I made up Kourtney for her appearance on Lopez Tonight. You can watch the clip above to see the funny interview. I loved Kourts entire look that night!
I went with more natural makeup and gave her cheeks a beautiful glow using Eye M Glam, my favorite all over highlighter of course. For a subtle pop of color, I painted her lips with a sheer peachy/orange shade. Leave a comment and let me know if you like the soft makeup on Kourtney! Xo, Mario.
Watch me share tips/tricks on BeautyBFF
Jenn Falik, beauty/fashion expert and host of Beauty BFF on msn recently had me on her show to discuss some supermodel beauty tricks. Take a look and let me know what you think!

Beauty blogger tells all: “my day w/ Mario Dedivanovic.”

Beauty blogger (Blushingmepink.com), makeup artist and sweetheart Kashonda (pictured next to me) just blogged about “her day with celeb makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic.” That day was this past Sunday as I hosted an all day workshop for Industy Art Shops. Her blog is appropriately titled because she had me blushing this morning!
Check out Blushing Me Pink and read on as Kashonda shares her workshop experience . Thank you Kashonda for attending the workshop from out-of -state and for taking the time to share your experience. Most importantly, thank you for learning and for allowing me the opportunity to teach. Xo Mario
Answers to your questions…

Hey guys! Tomorrow is the workshop in LA and many of you have been asking what the Artist Portfolio Event is and the difference between that and general admission. General admission is for those who want to come and watch me do a full makeup demonstration on a model and hear me speak, answer questions, share my tricks of the trade, etc.
The Artist Portfolio Event is optional and means that after my demo, you are given your own professional model to do makeup on and have her photographed by a professional photographer. You can then use the beauty shot for your portfolio. General admission attendees are welcome to stay and hang out during the artist portfolio event as well. This is a sweet message from a woman who wrote me after the Dec 4th class… she was nervous because she wasn’t a makeup artist:
“Mario, I really want to thank you for all the valuable info that you shared with our class on Dec. 4. You are an amazing Artist with so much talent. We chatted very briefly outside. That was my first professional makeup workshop ever. I knew I was going to be nervous and maybe not understand everything but your spirit is so calm and welcoming I felt so at home with your instruction. You are the best!”
I hope this helped to answer your questions. You have one more day to register, so click here! Xo Mario
